This sequence pretty much spanned the entire length of my time drawing storyboards on Monster House. I started it directly after finishing up the opening sequence, and we revised and revised for years. You'll notice that the House is still in it's earliest phase, not the final design for the film. I got to contribute a lot of my own ideas to this sequence. The Beast House biting the Backhoe, ripping off it's arm, and spitting it out at camera was one (my favorite). Chowder getting picked up by the cape was another. Here you can also see our first pass at DJ's triumphant swing. We worked on this for quite some time, but I have to say, making this action all one shot (as it is in the film), was inspired, and a really good use of the "freedon of camera" in a CG film.
